Announcing the Release of SunnyCornerCottage.com

I have just completed the design for Sunny Corner Cottage Childcare. I am rather proud of my first official site release so I have added it to my portfolio. (Also, it is my only live site - another good reason to add it to the portfolio.)

This site also marks my first attempt at a (loosely) grid-based design. I definitely have some improving to do on my efficiency with this method, but overall it was a good learning experience. I based the layout on a three column grid, with two sub-columns in each.

The owner wanted a clean, professional, and warm feel to the site. 

At first I thought that warm and professional were two concepts that would be hard to combine, but I think I pulled it off. The yellow-green provides the warmth while the simple layout provides the professionalism.

I’m happy with the result, but more importantly, so is the client! Please check out the site and let me know what you think.
